Popping up Britain’s highest peak

by Dom Lane on

Creating compelling and shareable content for clients ain’t always easy, but we’ll go the extra mile. We hired three student bartenders for Box Steam Brewery and climbed 4,406ft to the summit of Ben Nevis (the highest mountain in the UK) yesterday, in search of a good story and high altitude brand awareness.

Complete with barrel, bottles, bar mats and pint glasses, we had the students serving hand-pumped Tunnel Vision ale to thirsty climbers as they arrived at the snowy peak.

Dave, Harriet and Oscar were amongst 120 students who answered our ad for the Best Bar Job of the Summer. The lucky threesome joined Dom to spend nearly 4 hours hauling a 9 gallon cask of our client’s real ale and essential pub kit up the mountain in the Highlands.

This expedition was slightly more exploratory than the usual field marketing, but good beer and a spirit of adventure should appeal to thirsty students in NUS bars this term as much as it did to the media…
