Furthering causes, inspiring action. Our clients’ success matters most to us. They know what sets them apart. It’s our job to make sure everyone else does.
We want to leave our mark, and help others do the same. We want to make a living making a difference. Let’s defy ordinary.
It’s not about outputs, it’s all about outcomes. Our clients pay us to be right, not just to agree. So we’ll propose the right thing, not the easy earner.
Online and in print, indoors and out, in words and pictures. We set out to create nothing more and nothing less than the right thing in the right place at the right time.
We take our work more seriously than ourselves and value honesty and transparency above everything. Colour & Thing isn’t home to bullshit or jargon, but we do a good line in straight-talking enthusiasm.
Our team consists of all the usual strategic, techy, design orientated individuals it takes to produce outstanding work and results...
Matt Seaman, Creative Director
Matt's been colouring in since the 90’s, worked for some big London agencies and some pretty cool niche design houses along the way. He's got a no-nonsense, client-focused approach to creating great work. Whether it’s on or offline, great ideas should transcend all media, so he says. People inspire him and he loves tech, but he hates the way it sometimes gets in the way of real interaction. You’ll never catch him using an emoticon…
Dom Lane, Strategic Director
Not overly excited at the prospect of being a philosophy lecturer for the rest of his life, Dom started in communications 17 years ago. He earned a crust in events and sponsorship before entering agency PR, ending up with a remit to create ingenious integrated campaigns. He takes a lead on strategy and content at Colour & Thing, ensuring everything we create does what it’s supposed to. If it’s original, eccentric, theatrical, comic or social, then count him in.
Steve Hall, Non Exec Chairman
Uncle Steve has been there and done it. In spades. He's a well-respected and much loved (not least by us) creative director and successful MD, and in his capacity as our non-exec chair he shares with us decades of experience and unparalleled skills in business management, marketing strategy, campaign development, creative direction and copywriting.
Rick Hurst, Technical Lead
Unflappable perfectionist, indie guitarist and bike junky, Mr Hurst is a seasoned coder with more websites to his name than Trump has dodgy tweets. Rick directs all our digital output and on-going support, ensuring every website we build is as innovative and future-proof as it is user-friendly and search optimised.
Nicola Dudbridge, Head of Design
Nic adds the colour to the thing as our lead designer. She brings years of experience and more than a little patience to bear in creating smart and inspiring visual assets that breath life into our client's brands. When she puts her crayons down it's all about spa days, seasides and a good book.
Mike Osborne, Senior Creative Artworker
Like the speakers on a sound system, smart thinking and clever design ain't worth a jot if the final artwork isn't up to scratch. The quality of Mike's work is second to none and the reason we have a rep for producing elegant and impactful in-print and on-screen collateral. He's a serious muso.
Abi Williams, Account Manager/ Social
Abi smooths the path from strategy to creativity as our account manager, curates our clients' social media accounts and entices journos and bloggers with well-crafted content. Her volume dial is stuck at 11 and so is her enthusiasm. A 'clichéd 23 year old' (her words), you'll find her camping in a festival field this summer.
Beatrice Cidda, Design
Bea joined us an intern a couple of year's ago when she was studying English, but her obvious flare for graphic design meant we wouldn't let her go home to Milan. As the junior member of our design team she works with Nic and Mike, turning ideas into imagery. She'd easily earn her Clubbing and Photography guide badges.
